Cody Laboratories Founder Richard E. Asherman brings knowledge from a variety of healthcare disciplines that uniquely qualifies him to manage our firm. Having incubated two successful industry-related businesses, his experience includes not only pharmaceutical production and distribution, but medical supply manufacturing.
Along with his expertise in bulk pharmaceuticals, Mr. Asherman is the holder of two medical patents, one that allows patients to heal from serious chest wounds, speeding their recovery and lessening discomfort.
Finally, Mr. Asherman is a former Navy SEAL and as a result, brings attributes of strong leadership and integrity to his position with Cody Labs.
Executive Vice President Bernhard Opitz brings 30 years of leadership experience to the management team at Cody Laboratories. Mr. Opitz worked for 20 years with the Bayer group in Germany and Italy in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Development, and in the US as SVP Engineering. He worked for the diagnostics companies Ikonisys and Nanosphere, held the position of VP Engineering/ Operations at Wells' Dairy, and filled the role of SVP Operations for Unilife Medical Solutions. Mr. Opitz holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical/Process Engineering from Technical University Graz/Austria.
Mr. Opitz is a hands-on leader who believes the development of successful new products and world-class operations must include:
